Rotameter Description<\/b><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Rotameters, also known as float flow\u00a0meters<\/strong>, are a commonly used variable-area flowmeter. They primarily consist of a tapered measuring tube and a float. As fluid flows upward through the tube, the float rises due to the combined effects of fluid dynamics and gravity. The float’s equilibrium position corresponds to the scale on the tube wall, indicating the current flow rate.<\/span><\/p>\n

Operating Principle<\/b><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As fluid flows through the tube, the increased flow velocity and pressure differential push the float upward.<\/span><\/p>\n

When the upward thrust of the fluid balances the float’s weight, the float stabilizes at a certain height.<\/span><\/p>\n

The flow rate can be read by observing the scale corresponding to the float’s position.<\/span><\/p>\n
